on rejection

so today I get a very kindly worded email from Found Poetry Review stating that unfortunately my two poems were not going to be published in their upcoming Volume 8 issue.

I’m not too sore about it. To be honest, after nearly 8 months of waiting I figured my submission got lost in the dregs of email.

I still have 3 submissions out there, floating around for the next few weeks (likely months) so I’ll keep looking for open calls for submissions in literary magazines.

I’m still super excited about my upcoming december publication, so as long as I stay optimistic about that accomplishment, a few more rejections won’t sink me.
